Who Believe in Your Home
Founder Peter Leeke’s vision for Kingswood is one of deep integrity, nurtured relationships, and a passion for building and craft. A staff of 16—including skilled managers, talented designers, and field supervisors who are licensed contractors in North and South Carolina—represent 300 years of collective experience and personalized service. The Kingswood team upholds a high bar in all they do: listening, anticipating needs, respecting schedules and budgets, and maintaining currency in the shifting worlds of technology, engineering, and materials.

Peter Leeke
Founder
Peter Leeke founded Kingswood Custom Homes with his wife, Louise, in 1995 when they moved their family to Charlotte, North Carolina from London, England. Prior to the Leekes’ relocation to the United States, Peter ran a successful homebuilding and development enterprise, which built award-winning residences in and around London. He also worked with the British government, building apartments and townhomes for people with special needs. An experienced homebuilder and entrepreneur, Peter is long-inspired by his grandmother, who was knowledgeable about construction and involved in real estate investments in London.
Regarded for his warmth and integrity, Peter enjoys the relationships that he nurtures with his team, their clients, and industry professionals alike. As a philanthropist, Peter has dedicated himself and Kingswood to supporting the community, which as he says, “has been so good to us.” From raising over a million dollars for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital to sponsoring events for The Heartest Yard and Inspire the Fire, among others, Peter sets the bar high in both business and service. His passion for quality—from working with top architects to maintaining skilled currency with technology and materials—is evident in every Kingswood project.
Peter is the recipient of the 2018 Leadership Award from the Charlotte Home Builder’s Association.

Rob Hutzler
President
Rob Hutzler leads the Kingswood companies in the Carolinas. A native of Raleigh, North Carolina, Rob has focused on custom residential home building in the Carolinas for over 30 years. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Finance and Insurance from Appalachian State University. Prior to joining Kingswood, Rob was a Purchasing and Estimating Manager and a Project Manager for local construction companies. He says, “I have a knack for business as well as a passion for fixing things so have found my work in custom home building suits me very well. In addition to doing what I love, I am further inspired by Kingswood’s philanthropy — from donations to charity events to building homes for disabled veterans — which only fuels my desire to be involved to make life better for everyone.”
Rob enjoys the challenges of the industry, building relationships, and making dreams come true for Kingswood’s clients. He shares the process with his children, showing them photos along the way so that they have an appreciation for the hard work that goes into each home, how many skilled people it takes, and how everyone works together to make it happen. One day he’d like to take this a step further and introduce home building to kids still in school so that they might consider pursuing a career in construction one day too. When not on the job, Rob spends time with his wife, three children, and two dogs. He is an avid supporter of youth sports teams and has enjoyed volunteering as a coach.
